A detail and accessory set in photo-etched metal and resin from the Italian firm Royal Model, intended for a model of the Italian desert reconnaissance car AS 42 Sahariana in 1:35 scale. The set is conceived for the kit from the Italeri brand and adds fine elements that injection-molded plastic cannot manage. It is not a stand-alone model of the vehicle but an accessory for advanced modelers.
The Camionetta AS 42 Sahariana was an Italian light reconnaissance and raiding car developed for the fighting in North Africa, drawing technically on the AB 41 armored car. Its low silhouette and large wheels made it an ideal machine for reconnaissance and quick raids in sandy terrain. The armament varied with the version and included, for instance, a 20 mm cannon or the 47/32 anti-tank gun.
Wash the resin parts free of the mold release agent and cut the casting blocks off, and bend the etched metal over an edge. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). On a desert car, sand shades with dust pigments and a gentle wash stand out; the loaded stores are brought to life by accents of color.
This is an accessory in etched metal and resin. The base kit of the vehicle, glue and paints are not included in the package.
