A 3D-printed resin set of German standard jerrycans in 1:35 scale from GINGER CAT, in the form with the Sandrik, Waffen SS mark. The manufacturer gives ten pieces in the package. The jerrycans are fixed to the hull, the fenders or the brackets of a finished model, and they serve equally well as a scenic accessory in a diorama. For this set the manufacturer gives the Sandrik mark and the association with the Waffen SS.
Among the suppliers of the German standard jerrycan was the Slovak firm Sandrik, so containers with this mark are of interest to Czech and Slovak modelers beyond the subject of the vehicle itself. According to the manufacturer the set relates to Waffen SS units, which a modeler usually complements with matching markings on the whole vehicle. Because it is a distinguishing detail, it pays to let it stand out: a dark wash into the stamped mark, wiped off the surface, makes the lettering legible even in 1:35 scale.
3D-printed parts are small and brittle: separate them with a fine-tooth saw or with nippers and level the remains of the print supports with a fine file. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); solvent cement for plastic does not hold. Before painting, spray a thin coat of primer, as a heavy coat would drown the detail.
