An accessory set of periscopes for models of German tanks in 1:35 scale. It replaces the vision blocks on the turret and on the hull, that is parts that a kit often deals with only as a suggested shape, even though they catch the eye on a finished model.
A periscope is a small part with a big impact. It sits in the highest and most visible places on a vehicle, it has crisp edges and a glossy face, so the eye finds it sooner than the large areas of armor. A crisply shaped body and a legible edge therefore do more for the overall impression than another layer of soiling.
First remove the kit vision blocks carefully and sand the area flat, otherwise the new part will not seat. Cut the excess material and manufacturing marks off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts: modeling cement is enough for polystyrene kit parts, while for other materials reach for super glue. The vision block can be suggested with a dark, slightly bluish shade coated with gloss clear varnish; draw a drop of light paint along the edge to create a highlight. Stay restrained, as an excessively glossy face looks unnatural in this scale.
It suits builders finishing a model of a German tank in 1:35 scale who want to complete the details on the turret and the hull, and those repairing an older kit with coarsely shaped vision blocks.
