A 3D-printed resin set of plants in 1:35 scale from GINGER CAT: low ground cover plants. The manufacturer gives nine pieces in the package. The plants are supplied unpainted, so the shade of the leaves and the degree of withering are decided by the modeler according to the climate and the period the scene portrays.
Ground cover plants are the low tufts and cushions that in nature fill the space between larger plants and the transitions between the ground and a structure. In a diorama they fill the same role, and it is a role that cannot be overvalued: it is precisely the sharp transition between the base and a wall, or between a path and grass, that most often gives a model away. A few tufts at the foot of a wall and in the cracks of the paving cover that transition and the scene begins to look natural.
3D-printed parts are small and brittle: separate them with a fine-tooth saw or with nippers and level the remains of the print supports with a fine file. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); solvent cement for plastic does not hold. Before painting, spray a thin coat of primer, as a heavy coat would drown the detail.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
