An injection-molded plastic kit of the German light tank destroyer Jagdpanzer 38(t), popularly known as the Hetzer, in the mid production version (Mid) in 1:35 scale from Takom. The kit offers richly broken-down parts, a combination of link-and-length and individual link tracks, photo-etched parts and a turned metal gun barrel; some boxings also contain a worked-out interior. Check the exact contents of the box (in particular whether an interior is included) and the number of marking options against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Jagdpanzer 38(t) was a German light tank destroyer from the end of the Second World War, built on the proven chassis of the Czechoslovak LT vz. 38 tank (Pz.Kpfw. 38(t)). In a closed armored superstructure it carried a 7.5 cm anti-tank gun and stood out for its low silhouette and sloped armor. It was cheap and reasonably easy to produce, so it was built in large numbers and was committed on both fronts in the closing stages of the war. The mid production version reflects the changes introduced during series production.
Cut the parts off the sprues and glue them with liquid cement for plastic; assemble the individual link tracks and the photo-etched parts carefully according to the instructions. If the boxing contains an interior, paint and assemble it before closing the hull. Apply primer and the colors with an airbrush, and apply the decals over a gloss clear coat. Bring the characteristic mottled late-war camouflage schemes to life with a wash in the recesses and with pigments for mud and dust effects on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
