A set of tracks for the American M18 Hellcat tank destroyer, made by 3D printing from resin. This is not a vehicle kit but a replacement part for a model. The printed links have sharp edges and a clean surface with no parting line, so the cleanup falls away that on plastic tracks usually takes the most time. The manufacturer has designated the set for the Tamiya kit.
The M18 Hellcat was the fastest tracked combat vehicle of the Second World War. The American army built it on the concept of a light, unprotected but exceptionally mobile machine with a 76 millimeter gun in an open-topped rotating turret. The tactics counted on the crew taking up a firing position, shooting and immediately moving somewhere else. A light structure and a powerful engine gave it a speed the tanks of the day could not reach, at the cost of very thin armor.
Fit the track onto a finished running gear. Separate the parts from the supports, smooth the pads and wash them in lukewarm water with dish soap before painting. They are glued with super glue. For painting, a dark base, rust tones and drybrushing in a steel shade on the edges suit it, and pigments will then add the dust from the terrain.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. The Tamiya kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
