A set of two figures of Taliban insurgents in 1:35 scale from the Ukrainian brand Spalah. 3D-printed resin, supplied unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds two figures of Taliban insurgents in 1:35 scale. The box states two figures. The maker is the Ukrainian brand Spalah, which 3D-prints its figures from photopolymer resin. Printing makes it possible to model the loose clothing, the scarves and the mismatched kit as faithfully as injection-molded plastic could not. The figures are supplied unpainted and with print supports, so they rather belong in the hands of a more experienced modeler.
The Afghan battlefield after 2001 is rewarding for modelers precisely because of its contrast. Against the highly technical kit of regular armies stands an opponent in traditional dress, with light weapons and improvised load-carrying gear. Figures of this kind are therefore most often placed in scenes with American or British equipment, where they fill in the setting and the balance of forces.
Wash the print resin residue off the figures, cut the print supports away and sand the marks with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). On resin a primer is a must. Loose clothing comes out well when you let a dark wash run into the folds and lift the high points with a lighter shade of the same color. Dusting the hems with pigments completes the scene.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
