A 3D-printed resin set in 1:35 scale for the StuG III Ausf. G assault gun. It is the Unterlegklotz, that is the wooden block placed under the jack, together with its mounting in the version with leather straps. The manufacturer makes the same block in a version with metal bands as well, so choose according to the vehicle you are building. It is a detail accessory, not a kit of the vehicle.
The StuG III Ausf. G was the most numerous German assault gun of the Second World War; Alkett and MIAG built it from 1942 and it carried the 7.5 cm StuK 40 gun. With no turret and a low superstructure the crew had nowhere to stow the workshop equipment, so the jack, the wheel nut wrench and the rest block all hung outside on the armor. The leather strap was the older way of mounting it and over time it was replaced on many vehicles by a metal band.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry. Cut the print supports off with a sharp scalpel and finish the pads with a fine abrasive; a slightly bowed thin part can be straightened with gentle warmth, as boiling water will damage the resin. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Make the leather a dark brown with a slightly glossy transition on the edges, and the wood a light base with a brown wash along the grain. It is that contrast of two materials that makes the block interesting.
