A 3D-printed detail set for the Soviet T-54, T-55 and T-62 tanks, not a kit of the vehicle. It holds the handles of the external fuel tanks and of the engine deck, that is the bent wire grips which an injection mold renders disproportionately heavy at this scale, or replaces with a mere suggestion in the surface. The printed parts keep a thin profile and preserve the gap between the grip and the panel that is visible on a model.
The T-54 and T-55 were the most widespread tanks of their day and the T-62 grew out of them with a smoothbore gun. External fuel tanks at the rear and on the fenders were standard fittings on all of these machines and the crew handled them by the grips; likewise the engine deck covers were opened every time the engine was serviced. That is why the handles are worn smooth and often bent in period photographs.
Shave the suggested handle off the plastic and level the area, otherwise the new part will stand above the surrounding surface. Cut the print supports off with a sharp blade and glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply filler primer before painting. Once the base color is down, pick the handles out with a wash and suggest worn metal on their upper surface, because that is where the paint rubbed through first in service.
The set contains only the printed parts listed. The base kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
