The men of the Tiger I heavy tank, Waffen-SS units are a 1:35 set of figures from Royal Model, intended as an accessory to models of this type of armored vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
A collector's set of figures in 1:35 scale from the production of the Italian brand Royal Model. It depicts the crew of a Tiger I heavy tank in the black overalls of German tankers, in the version used with the Waffen-SS units. The set is meant as an accessory to a model of the vehicle, which is obtained separately.
The Tiger I, officially the Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausf. E, was a heavy tank built from 1942. It weighed around fifty-seven tons, its main weapon was an 88 mm gun derived from an anti-aircraft gun and the front armor reached one hundred millimeters. The design with interleaved road wheels gave a smooth ride but complicated maintenance. The vehicles were not assigned to whole divisions but to independent heavy tank battalions. The crew consisted of four men in the turret and the hull plus the driver.
A group of figures looks best when it has clear action, for example replenishing ammunition, cleaning the barrel or a conference over a map. Model the black clothing over a dark gray base, otherwise all the folds will merge into one surface. Pay attention to the directions of gaze as well: a unifying point of the scene holds the composition together.
The figures are not painted and the model of the vehicle is sold separately.
