Rye Field Model RM-2014 is a set of 3D-printed workable track links of the late production type for models of the Pz.Kpfw. III and Pz.Kpfw. IV in 1:35 scale. It is an add-on for a kit; the tank model is not in the package.
Responsibility details are not available.
The RM-2014 set from Rye Field Model holds track links made by 3D printing in resin, in the late production pattern. It is not a tank kit but a replacement track run for a model. The links join one after another and the finished run stays workable, so it can be seated on the road wheels and allowed to sag under its own weight. The manufacturer also issues the same run in injection-molded plastic under RM-5037.
The Pz.Kpfw. III and Pz.Kpfw. IV ran on tracks of the same 40 cm wide family, and the same family was used by the StuG. III and StuG. IV self-propelled vehicles. The late link type differs from earlier patterns in detail; in the final period of the war the far wider Winterketten winter track was added, which the same manufacturer issues as set RM-5084. So compare the pattern against a photograph of the vehicle you are building.
3D-printed parts are glued with cyanoacrylate (super glue); ordinary plastic cement will not bond them. Wash the links before building and cut the print supports away carefully; protect your airways while sanding. A primer coat is a must, without it paint will not hold on the print. Assemble the run dry first, wrap it around the drive and idler wheels, and only then glue it up step by step. Polish the top faces of the links to a metallic sheen and, by contrast, dust the sunken areas with pigment.
It is an add-on for a model, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
