WWII Panzer Latches (Basic) 1:35 is a 3D-printed set of basic locks and latches for the boxes and covers of German tanks. It is an accessory for a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A 3D-printed detail set, not a kit of the vehicle. It holds the universal locks and latches that closed tool boxes, covers and lockers on German vehicles of the Second World War. The manufacturer lists three variants: this basic one, a version with an eye for a padlock, and a separate set of turret bin latches. The difference between them lies in the lock itself, not in the scale.
German vehicles carried boxes for tools, spare parts and equipment on the fenders and on the hull. They closed with small lever latches that stand out clearly in period photographs of the vehicles, and it is those that tell the eye the box is sheet metal and not a square block. In kits these locks are usually suggested only by an engraved line or a low relief, because an injection mold cannot do better at this scale.
First shave off the engraved lock on the plastic and level the area, otherwise the new part will stand too high. Cut the latches off with a sharp blade, glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) and mark their positions out beforehand. Apply filler primer before painting; once the base color is down, pick the locks out with a dark wash, which lifts the fine relief considerably.
The set contains only the printed parts listed. The base kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
