1:48 F-4 Phantom ejection seats, Martin-Baker Mk.H-7 with belts (2 pcs) from Art Scale are resin 3D-printed parts for the Phantom cockpit. The manufacturer recommends them for the Tamiya Phantom kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A pair of resin ejection seats made by 3D printing, in the version with belts, for a 1:48 F-4 Phantom model. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that replaces the seats from the plastic kit. The box identifies the seat as the Martin-Baker Mk.H-7, and the manufacturer recommends the accessory for the Tamiya Phantom kit. The belts are printed directly on the seat, so no photo-etched parts have to be added.
The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II was a two-seat twin-engine machine that served with the US Navy, the US Air Force and the Marine Corps, and with a number of further operators as well. The Martin-Baker Mk.H7 seats replaced the earlier Mk.H5 in the Phantom: instead of an ejection gun they use a rocket motor, and instead of a soft bag they have a rigid parachute container. That makes it a zero-zero class seat, usable even while standing on the ground. According to the manufacturer of the seats, the Mk.7 is still in service in Phantoms.
Wash the seats in warm soapy water, remove the print supports after warming them in hot water and level the seating surfaces. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). After a primer, spray the body of the seat, finish the belts and the handles with a brush and bring out the recesses with a dark wash. Warning placards and the stripes on the belts add credibility to the seat and are worth a few minutes of work.
The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
