A cast figure of a pilot of the MiG-29 fighter in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Plusmodel. A figure beside a model works as a scale reference: it is only next to a human shape that the viewer realizes how big the machine actually is. It also gives the scene some action, whether you place the pilot by the cockpit, by the landing gear or in a line with the ground crew.
The MiG-29 is a twin-engine fighter with pronounced wing leading edge extensions and twin vertical tails. It entered service in the 1980s and became one of the most widespread types of its generation. The pilots wore a helmet with a visor, an oxygen mask, a g-suit and a life vest, kit by which the period can be told at first glance.
Wash the figure in lukewarm water with detergent, cut the casting block off with a saw and level the surface. It is glued with cyanoacrylate. Paint from the top down, start with a darker base and add lighter tones on the raised areas. In 1:48 scale a grown man is about three and a half centimeters tall, so only suggest the details. Do the face with a base tone, a dark wash into the eye sockets and a light touch on the nose and the cheekbones.
The figure is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
