Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American heavy bomber Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress in 1:72 scale from Revell in the newer tooling (New Tooling). The model has a broken-up surface with fine panel lines, glazed defensive turrets and cockpit, machine guns and bomb load. Thanks to the size of the real aircraft the result is a large and striking display model. It is a more demanding build for more experienced modelers.
The B-17 is among the most iconic bombers of the Second World War. The B-17G version was the most numerous and the definitive variant; its recognition feature is the chin turret with two machine guns, which improved defense against head-on attacks by fighters. Flying Fortresses were the backbone of daylight strategic bombing over Europe and were renowned for their dense defensive fire and for their ability to bring heavy damage back to base.
Glue the large fuselage in stages with thin cement for plastic, and mask the glazed turrets and paint them with an airbrush. Finish the interior and the cockpit before closing the fuselage. The natural metal surfaces of late machines come out well with metallic paint over a smooth gloss base; a thin panel wash brings out the engraved lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
