A set of ten tools for working with pliable modeling compounds, supplied in a case. Each tool has a differently shaped working end, because sculpting is largely about having exactly the tip that makes the shape you want. The case also solves a practical problem: the tools do not go missing and the tips do not blunt each other.
The tools serve for shaping epoxy and polymer compounds, for smoothing a surface, for scribing the folds of cloth, for creating the texture of wood and leather, for repairing putty and for adding missing detail on models. They also come into their own when working with resin and cleaning up small areas.
Before work, damp the tips lightly or coat them with a release agent so that the compound does not stick to them; with many compounds ordinary water or a drop of oil does the job. Work with short touches, not strokes, or you will smear the texture rather than shape it. Clean the tools after every use while the compound is still soft, because dried residue is hard to get out of a profiled tip.
The modeling compound is not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
