The clamps hold a joint under steady pressure for the whole time the glue is setting, so the parts do not shift and you do not have to stand over them. They are neither pliers nor a tool for bending, but a holding aid for the duration of curing.
It suits modelers who glue larger shells and need pressure in several places at once, and figure painters for holding small parts. Six pieces in the package make it possible to pull a whole seam together at once. Think the order of work out beforehand: a clamp has to be fitted before the glue touches the joint, otherwise the joint shifts while it is being fitted. The clamps are not meant for forceful gripping or for hard materials, as the spring holds only light pressure; for large areas and thick-walled parts a larger clamp is needed.
Try a clamp empty before fitting it and check that the tips meet each other. Check the seam once it has set, before you start sanding, as a joint that has shifted is hard to put right later.
