A figure of a single soldier, an operator of the Ukrainian special forces, in the large 1:24 scale from the Ukrainian brand Master Box. The manufacturer has placed it in a series devoted to the Russian-Ukrainian war, and the box gives an operation in the Belgorod Region in March 2025. The package contains one figure and is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The 1:24 scale is unusually large for a figure and leaves room for genuinely detailed painting.
Special forces operators wear modular gear that they put together according to the task: a plate carrier with pouches for magazines, a light ballistic helmet with rails for optics and night vision, knee and elbow pads and gloves. It is this layered gear that makes a modern infantry figure interesting for the modeler, because camouflage pattern, fabric, webbing and plastics with very different surfaces and sheen all come together on it.
The large 1:24 scale forgives little. Fill and sand the seams on the figure, because on smooth skin and on the gear every scratch shows. Paint the face from a dark undercoat toward the light areas and do the eyes last. Apply the camouflage pattern on the uniform from the lightest tone to the darkest and leave the edges slightly softened. A dark wash brings the webbing and the fabric to life, while the plastic and metal parts take a spot of gloss instead. Paint the figure in parts before you assemble it.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
