A set of precisely cut self-adhesive painting masks from Clear Prop Models for a model of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109E fighter in the E-1, E-3 and E-3a versions, in 1:48 scale. The mask is double-sided, so it makes masking the glazing from the outside and the inside easier and gives clean, sharp edges with no paint creeping under. It is not a kit and not a decal sheet.
The masks serve to cover the cockpit glazing (and other areas if needed) while the paint is sprayed, so the cockpit frames stay precisely bounded and the clear parts stay clean. The double-sided design makes it possible to paint the inner and the outer frame in the matching shades, which on the glazed cockpit of the Emil is a visible detail.
Degrease the surfaces before sticking the masks on, apply them with dry tweezers and press them carefully against the edges of the frames. Spray the paint in thin coats so that it does not creep under the edge of the mask; take the mask off while the paint is still fresh. It is best to apply the color of the inner frame first and the outer one once it has dried.
This is a set of painting masks, not a model and not paints. Paints and the kit are not included in the package.
