The photo-etched set 1:700 WWII USN Ammunition Box from Flyhawk. A set of fine ammunition boxes for the decks of American warships of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a photo-etched detail set in 1:700 scale, that is, an accessory to a kit, not a model in its own right. The set from Flyhawk brings the ammunition boxes placed on the decks of American warships beside the anti-aircraft positions.
The ammunition boxes stood on deck near the light anti-aircraft weapons as a store of rounds. The photo-etched rendering makes it possible to fold the small boxes into a three-dimensional shape that creates a convincing still life around the weapons on deck. The set usually holds several boxes on a single photo-etched fret, in some cases with a lid or handles indicated.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp knife and fold the small boxes over an edge into a box shape. Glue them with cyanoacrylate and lay them out on the deck beside the anti-aircraft positions. Once fitted, spray them with primer and paint them; tweezers and a magnifier come in handy.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
