Studio27 1:24, Porsche 934 RSR Momo, No. 9, 1977 is a sheet of decals, that is markings, for the Porsche 934 kit from Tamiya. This is not a kit: you have to have the model of the car of your own.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a decal set in 1:24 scale from the Japanese maker Studio27. It is not a kit and there is no plastic in it: these are strictly the markings with which you re-mark a finished body. The basis is the Porsche 934 kit from Tamiya, which has to be bought separately, just like the paints and the glue.
The Porsche 934 was the racing version of the 911 Turbo built for Group 4 (it was entered from 1976 on). You will recognize it at a glance: huge flared fenders, a front spoiler and a rear wing. What matters, though, is that it was a customer racing car. Porsche sold it to private teams all over the world, and so the same car raced in dozens of utterly different color schemes. The box from Tamiya offers only one or two liveries. A decal sheet is the way to build exactly the car you want. The designation Turbo RSR was commonly used for the 934 both in period practice and in period listings (the car was also listed as the 911 Turbo Carrera RSR).
This particular livery belongs to the car that Gianpiero Moretti raced in 1977, the founder of the MOMO brand, that is a maker of steering wheels and racing accessories. Moretti was a racer and the owner of the company in one person and he advertised his own logo with his car, which made the red and yellow Porsche one of the most memorable 934s of all. With car No. 9 he started, among other things, in the six-hour race at Silverstone alongside Vittorio Brambilla, where the car finished first in the GT class.
Decals belong on gloss clear coat. On a matte surface air is caught under the film of the decal and the edges silver, which is the most common mistake and can no longer be repaired. So first polish the body to a gloss (or spray it with gloss clear coat). With the 934 and its huge bulging fenders you cannot do without decal softener: the product softens the film and it sucks down to the curved area without folds. Count on the fact as well that the sheet does not cover the whole body: the basic color of the car has to be sprayed, the decals only add the logos and numbers, so get the matching shades in advance. Once the decals have dried comes clear coat and polishing, which sinks the markings into the coat and gives the car the wet look of a real race car.
The sheet contains decals only. The kit, paints, glue, softener and clear coat are not included in the package. Other Porsche 934 liveries were made as well, so the same model can be built differently every time.
