This product is not a kit: it is a sheet of water-transferred decals from the Japanese brand Studio27 in 1:24 scale. It contains a decal sheet and instructions for the placement, nothing else. For it to be of any use to you, you need a finished model of the car, specifically the BMW 318i plastic kit from Hasegawa (it was released in several versions). Paints, clear coats and glue are not in the package.
The BMW 318i (E36) was a touring car, that is a racing special built on a production sedan, a category which filled the grandstands all over the world in the 1990s. Motorola is the name of a sponsor (American electronics and telecommunications, famous for pagers at the time), not a driver or a version of the car. In the Guia Race in Macau in 1994 cars in the Motorola colors started as a separate private team alongside the works Schnitzer stable, which entered a 318i of its own at the time, and it was the works car that mastered the race: Joachim Winkelhock won in Macau in 1994.
The Guia circuit is a street course run along the ordinary streets of Macau. Concrete walls line the course with practically no run-off areas, the racers throw themselves from the fast coastal section into tight corners climbing up the hill and the width of the course in some places barely allows overtaking. A mistake here does not end with a trip into the gravel, but with contact with a wall. That is exactly why Guia is taken as one of the most demanding circuits in the world and why a victory here carries a peculiar weight in a driver resume.
The most important rule goes: apply them to gloss clear coat. A matte base is microscopically rough, air stays under the decal and the marking starts to silver, which is by far the most common mistake modelers make. The sponsor markings are large and they run across the curved fenders and sills, so you practically cannot do without decal softener; with it the membrane is drawn to the shape and the edges disappear. Next comes clear coat and gentle polishing, which gives the body that typical wet shine of a racing car. And do not forget that the sheet does not cover the whole area of the body, as you have to spray the basic color of the car yourself and it has to match the decals in shade.
This is a decal sheet, not a model. The kit of the car, paints, clear coats, softener and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
