Studio27 1:12 Yamaha RZ250 / RZ350 — the Line Decal B sheet holds decorative stripes and lines for the motorcycle kits from Hasegawa. It is not a kit and not a complete livery — these are the lines alone.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of waterslide decals from Studio27 in 1:12 scale, intended for the Yamaha RZ250 and RZ350 plastic kits from Hasegawa. It is not a kit — the package holds only the sheet of markings, and the motorcycle model has to be obtained separately. And one more important point: by its name and by its classification this is a sheet of decorative lines and stripes for the tank and the fairing, not a complete livery. Do not expect a set of all the lettering and logos, then — you are buying the lines. The letter B in the name marks the version; Studio27 also offers version A, so check before buying which of them you need, or consider both. A practical advantage: the sheet covers both models, the RZ250 and the RZ350, so it will serve two different builds.
The Yamaha RZ250 and RZ350 are two-stroke twins from the beginning of the 1980s — liquid cooled, light and unexpectedly fast for their time. In Europe most modelers know them under the RD designation with the LC suffix. They were machines with a sudden surge of power and an unmistakable sound; for a whole generation they were the first real motorcycle, and today they are sought-after collector's pieces. The decorative stripes across the tank and the sides of the fairing are part of their visual signature — and it is exactly that part of a model's equipment that this sheet deals with, in better print and registration quality than decals from a box usually offer.
A line is the most demanding kind of decal you will meet on a model: it is long, narrow and has to follow the curved tank exactly. That is why a decal softener here is not a recommendation but a necessity — without it the stripe across the side of the tank will wrinkle and will not settle. The surface must be glossy and fully cured, otherwise the decal will silver and its edge will show. The base color, that is the color of the tank and the fairing, has to be sprayed beforehand — the sheet supplies only the lines, not the areas. Work in sections, set each stripe on its own and fix it, and only then continue. At the end cover the model with clear varnish and polish it: on a motorcycle the tank should look like lacquered metal, and polishing is what moves a model from done to finished.
The sheet holds decals only, that is lines and stripes. The motorcycle kit (Hasegawa), the paints, the clear varnish and the decal softener are not included in the package.
