A set of sixteen figures of Afghan irregular fighters in 1:32 scale for scenes from modern conflicts.
Responsibility details are not available.
The fighting in Afghanistan was largely waged against irregular armed groups. They wore no uniform clothing: the dress was civilian and local, the equipment gathered from various sources and the armament consisted mostly of older infantry weapons. For a modeler that is both an advantage and a pitfall. The figures all look different from one another, but you have to put the colors together yourself, because they cannot be copied from the shade table of a single army.
The package brings sixteen figures in 1:32 scale. For figures that is among the larger scales: an adult figure measures around five and a half centimeters in it, so the cut of the clothing, the footwear and the small items of equipment all stand out. Sixteen pieces is a number with which a whole scene can be filled, not just one or two figures added beside a vehicle.
Before painting, wash the figures in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let them dry; try the adhesion of the base on one piece. Loose clothing benefits from a darker tone drawn into the folds and a lighter shade drawn over the raised areas. With a larger group of figures, vary the shades of the cloth so that the scene does not look like a uniformed parade, and set the cloth apart from the skin and the metal with a different degree of gloss.
For modelers who build scenes from modern conflicts and for collectors of figures in a larger scale. Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
