About product

Preserved lichen, gray, 250 g

A large pack of preserved natural lichen in a gray shade weighing two hundred and fifty grams. The material stays pliable, does not crumble and needs neither water nor light.

When a quarter of a kilo of gray makes sense

When a winter layout, a dry hillside or rocky country is being built, that is, a scene where green growth is out of place. Gray lichen stands in there for dry shrubbery, dead twigs and vegetation on rock. It also comes into its own as an admixture in green growth, where it reads as the dead part of a bush; it is exactly such small things that make a scene believable, because nothing in nature is perfectly fresh.

How to work with it

  • Tear the tufts off with your fingers, as scissors crush the material
  • Glue with PVA glue, or with cyanoacrylate glue on smooth surfaces
  • In a winter scene add a white dusting from above
  • If mixing with green, add the gray in smaller doses
  • Use small pieces as dry undergrowth among stones

Who it is for

For clubs, for builders of large layouts and for modelers of winter and dry scenes. The manufacturer is a German company specializing in scenery accessories, and production takes place in Germany. Safety note: a natural material does not belong in the hands of the smallest children, and you should ventilate the room when working with fine granulate. Keep the remainder in a closed bag out of direct sunlight. Prepare a stock of torn tufts before gluing; the work then goes smoothly and the density of the growth stays the same.

FAQ

Two hundred and fifty grams.

Winter and dry scenes, rocky slopes, and use as the dead part of a bush among green tufts.

Yes, and it works well. Add the gray in smaller doses so that the growth does not look parched all over.
