A set of accurately cut self-adhesive masks for the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXe fighter in 1:48 scale in the double-sided pattern. The masks are prepared for the frames of the cockpit glazing from the outside as well as the inside, so you can spray the cockpit frames from within in the interior color and reach a realistic look for the glazing. Masks for the wheels are usually included. Being cut to fit Mk.IXe airframes, the masks sit exactly on the frames of that kit in this scale and give clean, sharp edges with no paint creeping under.

The real subject

The Spitfire Mk.IX came about by fitting the proven airframe with the more powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin 60 series engine with a two-stage supercharger, so that the fighter could match the German Fw 190. The e wing designation corresponds to armament of two 20 mm cannons and two heavy machine guns. The Mk.IX is among the most widespread and most successful versions of the Spitfire.
