HEKI mikroflor, pine green, 28 by 14 cm

A foliage mat from the German maker HEKI from the mikroflor line of a size of twenty-eight by fourteen centimeters. The finest grade of foliage has a grain so small that on a model it merges into a continuous area. The pine green shade is cooler and darker than ordinary leaf green, with a hint of blue, and matches the needles of pines, spruces and firs. That sets it apart from the other variants of the line, which are intended for deciduous trees.

Use

• coniferous bushes and young undergrowth beneath conifers
• dark parts on the edge of a coniferous wood
• completing finished conifers that are too sparse
• cool greenery in mountain and northern scenes

How to work with the mat

Tear a piece of the mat off, stretch it into irregular gaps and lay it on the armature, or on the branches of a finished tree. Fix it with sparing drops of cyanoacrylate or white glue. With conifers it proves useful to work in small pieces and to go from the lower branches upward; the crown then keeps its conical shape. Do not mix pine green with summer leaf green on one tree, for the difference between needles and leaves is clear in nature and on a model it would look like an oversight.

For builders of coniferous woods and of mountain and northern scenes, and for modelers fine tuning finished conifers. This is a modeling material, not a toy. The maker marks its landscaping goods as not suitable for children under fifteen years of age.
