Two finished model trees from the German maker HEKI, thirteen centimeters tall. The willow belongs by water, and the silvery tone of the crown gives it a pale, grayish cast that sets it apart from the surrounding greenery. On a model that is a double advantage: the tree itself reveals where the bank is, and at the same time it brings a difference in color into the growth, thanks to which a group of trees does not merge into a single mass.

How to work with the trees

The trees are pushed into a pre-drilled hole or glued by the foot of the trunk. Set the willow so that the crown leans over the surface, which is typical of a tree by water and gives the scene movement. Add taller grass and reeds under the trees, as a mown lawn does not belong with a willow. Spread the flattened crown carefully with your fingers after unpacking, and do not set the two trees symmetrically side by side.

For builders of layouts and dioramas with water features and for modelers who want to bring a paler tone into their growth. The pair can also be split and each tree set at a different place along the bank, so that the line of the water does not repeat symmetrically. This is modeling material, not a toy.
