Gauge Neutral grass tufts yellow-red 10 mm / 50 pc

HEKI Grass Tufts, Yellow-Red 10 mm, 50 pcs

Fifty individual grass tufts from the German maker HEKI, ten millimeters tall, in a combined yellow-red finish. The mixed coloring is deliberate here: in nature dried growth is not one color but runs from yellow through rust to red, depending on the species and on how long it has been dry. A tuft made up of two tones therefore saves the work that would otherwise have to be done by mixing two boxes.

Use

• tall dry grass with a spread of color
• grassy strips between fields, stubble fields and abandoned ground in autumn
• bringing color to a monotonous yellow or brown area
• tufts at the footings of posts, fences and bridge piers
• heathland and dry hillsides

How to work with the tufts

The tufts are not self-adhesive; they are fixed with modeling glue, ideally a flock adhesive or PVA glue. Apply a drop of glue to the base and seat the tuft in it with tweezers. Do not spread colored tufts evenly, but set them in clusters and at uneven density, otherwise the area looks dotted. A few green tufts among them give the scene depth and keep the whole area from looking dead.

Who the set is for

For builders of autumn layouts and dioramas and for modelers who want a spread of color in a dry area. This is modeling material, not a toy. The manufacturer marks its scenery products as unsuitable for children under fifteen.
