Four finished model trees from the German maker HEKI in two sizes, six and nine centimeters. A combination of two heights in one box is practical with fruit species: a real orchard never comes into being all at once, trees are planted in over time and younger pieces stand next to older ones. Compared with an apple tree, a plum has a narrower and more upright crown, so it can be told apart in an orchard even without fruit.
The small trees are pushed into a pre-drilled hole or glued by the foot of the trunk. In an orchard plant them in rows at roughly equal spacing, but alternate the lower and taller pieces, as that is exactly what makes an orchard believable. Add grass or low growth under the crown. Spread the flattened crown carefully with your fingers after unpacking and leave it upright rather than spreading.
For builders of rural layouts and dioramas and for modelers fine-tuning orchards and gardens. The set also suits building an orchard up gradually, because more can be added later and the trees will stay in the same style. This is modeling material, not a toy. The manufacturer marks its scenery products as unsuitable for children under fifteen.
