Plum trees, 4 cm, 5pcs

HEKI Plum Trees 4 cm, 5 pcs

Five finished model small trees from the German maker HEKI, four centimeters tall. Compared with an apple tree, a plum has a narrower and more upright crown, so it can be told apart in an orchard even without fruit and works well where there is no room for a spreading tree. At four centimeters these are young trees, planted in an orchard after old ones have been felled or used to establish a completely new row.

Use

• young orchards and newly planted gardens
• plum avenues along grassy strips between fields and lanes
• filling gaps in an existing orchard
• low tree greenery by yards and fences
• trees in the background meant to deepen a scene
• greenery by yards where only a few trees stand

How to work with the small trees

The small trees are pushed into a prepared hole or glued by the foot of the trunk. Plums were traditionally planted in rows along grassy strips between fields and lanes, so a linear arrangement is exactly what makes sense for them. Keep the spacing roughly equal but vary the heights slightly. Spread the flattened crown carefully with your fingers after unpacking and leave it upright rather than spreading.

Who the set is for

For builders of rural layouts and dioramas and for modelers fine-tuning orchards, grassy strips between fields and lanes. The five can be supplemented with taller plums of the same brand, and the avenue then looks as though it came into being gradually. This is modeling material, not a toy. The manufacturer marks its scenery products as unsuitable for children under fifteen.
