Fruit trees 5 cm / 5 pc

HEKI Fruit Trees 5 cm, 5 pcs

Five finished model small trees from the German maker HEKI, five centimeters tall. Compared with forest species, fruit trees have a shorter trunk and a broader, low-set crown, because in orchards they are shaped by pruning. Five centimeters matches a younger tree of the kind planted in an orchard after an old one has been felled, so the five can make up a new row or fill gaps in an existing orchard.

Use

• young orchards and newly planted gardens
• filling gaps in an existing orchard
• low tree greenery by yards and fences
• rows of trees along field lanes
• greenery between houses and farm buildings

How to work with the small trees

The small trees are pushed into a prepared hole or glued by the foot of the trunk. In an orchard plant them in rows at roughly equal spacing, because regularity sets an orchard apart from freely grown vegetation. A young orchard also has shorter, flatter grass between the rows than an old one, where the growth has already taken over. Spread the flattened crown carefully with your fingers after unpacking and leave it broad rather than tall.

Who the set is for

For builders of rural layouts and dioramas and for modelers fine-tuning orchards and gardens. The five can be supplemented with taller fruit trees of the same brand, and the orchard then looks as though it came into being gradually. This is modeling material, not a toy. The manufacturer marks its scenery products as unsuitable for children under fifteen.
