Four models of a conifer 17 cm tall in a single-sided version. Intended for the woodland background of a scene, where only the front of the tree is visible.
Responsibility details are not available.
A single-sided version means that the tree is made up on the viewing side and stays flat at the back. At the edge of a diorama or against the rear wall of a layout that cannot be told, while the trees can be set close together and against the background, where a full conifer would take up too much room. This is exactly where the impression of a deep wood is created without your having to make the scene longer.
The model is 17 cm and there are four pieces in the package. In H0 scale, that is 1:87, 17 cm corresponds to a mature spruce roughly 15 meters tall, and in 1:72 scale to roughly 12 meters. Before gluing the trees in, hold them up to a building or a vehicle in the scene and compare whether the height is right; with conifers an error of scale shows sooner than with broadleaves, because the eye knows their shape well.
Single-sided trees belong at the back, in the second and third rows of growth. At the front, where the viewer sees from every side, put full trees. Seat the trunk in a hole drilled in the base to match its diameter and secure it with glue, so that the tree stands square even when the scene is handled. Then cover the base of the trunk with fallen needles, grass or small stones; the transition from a bare trunk into a flat base is otherwise conspicuous.
The package holds four trees 17 cm tall, that is the basis of one smaller copse or of the rear row of the edge of a wood. The base, the terrain materials, the glue, the paints and the other greenery are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
