Three models of Heki spruces 17 cm tall. A scenic accessory for the edge of a wood or a copse on a diorama and on a layout.
Responsibility details are not available.
The spruce is the most typical tree of Central European countryside, and in a scene it does what no other element does: with a vertical line it breaks up the horizontal surfaces of terrain and layout. The package holds three pieces 17 cm tall, that is a small group straight away. Compared with a single tree that is a substantial difference, because a lone conifer in the middle of open ground looks odd, whereas three trees together already form the edge of a wood or a copse by a field track.
No scale is given in the name, so convert the height for your own scene. Seventeen centimeters corresponds in 1:87 scale to a tree roughly 15 meters tall, in 1:72 scale to about 12 meters and in 1:35 scale to just under 6 meters. In all three cases this is a mature tree which will take its place in a scene. Allow for it when it comes to the height of a display case or cover as well.
Three trees of the same height should not stand in a row or in a regular triangle. Put two closer together and the third some way off, turn each one a different side toward the viewer, and plant one deeper into a slope so that its base lies lower. Seat the trunk in a hole drilled to match its diameter and secure the joint with glue, so that the tree stands square. Hide the transition between the trunk and the ground with scatter, granulate or a tuft of grass, otherwise it is obvious at first glance that the tree has been pushed into the base.
The package holds three trees 17 cm tall. The base, the terrain materials, the glue and the paints are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
