Three weathered spruces eighteen to twenty-two centimeters tall. Mature specimen trees with the irregular crown that grows on ridges and at forest edges.
Responsibility details are not available.
Three tall conifers from the line the manufacturer presents as weather-beaten spruces. They do not have a regular conical shape but a windswept, asymmetrical crown of the kind real trees acquire in exposed places. They are supplied finished and foliated.
A regular cone is the shape of a nursery, not of a forest. A tree growing on a ridge, at the edge of a clearing or on a slope above the railroad has a crown deformed by the prevailing wind and its lower branches often dead. On a model such a tree catches the eye at once, because it differs from its identical neighbors. That is exactly why this line is used one or two at a time as a landmark rather than as filling.
The set suits modelers who already have their forest finished and want to liven it up, as well as diorama builders where every tree is seen close up. A height of over eighteen centimeters means that in the smaller layout gauges these are genuinely massive individuals. Production takes place in Germany and the shape of the crown is finished by hand, so the pieces differ from one to the next. Before seating a tree, look at it from all sides and turn the side with the most interesting outline toward the viewer.
