A box with fifty finished conifers whose height runs from five to twelve centimeters. The range is wide enough for one set to yield a forest with an uneven upper outline. The small trees are foliated and the manufacturer intends them for H0, TT and N gauges.
The range of heights decides. When every tree ends at the same level, the eye recognizes artificial planting at once. Real growth has several generations: overtopping individuals, a middle tier and young self-seeding at the margins. A set with a range from five to twelve centimeters covers that on its own, without further sizes having to be added.
It suits layout builders in the usual gauges who want to forest a larger area in one purchase, and diorama modelers. The core of each small tree is an injection-molded plastic armature with hand-bent branches and production takes place in Germany, so individual pieces differ slightly in shape. Before you start planting, sort the small trees by height into three piles; planting then goes faster and the outline of the stand can be controlled instead of arising by chance. Do not throw away the smallest pieces left over, as they serve as self-seeding in a ditch or as a hedge along a lane.
