HEKI grass mat, light green, 100 x 300 cm

This is not a model or a kit but a finished grass surface. The backing is a firm special paper with densely flocked upright fibers, and the shade matches a spring or mown lawn in the sun. The 100 x 300 cm format is the largest of the line and gives 3 m² according to the manufacturer, which is a supply for a whole layout with a minimum of seams. The mat is not tied to a single scale; the manufacturer lists it for the H0, TT, N and Z sizes.

Use

• large spring meadows, pastures, parks and sunny slopes
• the base surface of a layout, which is then darkened section by section and filled in with vegetation
• on a flat board it is cut and then glued like wallpaper with wallpaper, spray or general-purpose adhesive
• hills and slopes come about by reshaping it over crumpled paper balls or over a framework of strips and cardboard
• cut a road, a stream or a track bed by damping the surface, scraping the fibers off with a spatula and repainting with acrylic

Who it is for

For builders of a whole layout who want the grassy base finished in one go and the further shades handled with glazes and added vegetation. A large sheet is practical also because the offcuts leave areas for dioramas. A light base is practical because a surface can be darkened at any time, while lightening it no longer is. Anyone who wants shaded places on the layout adds the dark green variant of the same line to the light mat.
