The decal sheet Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXe in Turkish service in 1:48 scale from the Tiger Head Models brand is aimed at machines operated by the Turkish Air Force. It is an accessory for a model, not a kit.

The sheet brings printed decals in 1:48 scale for finishing a model of the Supermarine Spitfire fighter in the Mk.IXe version with the markings of the Turkish Air Force. The package holds decals only, no plastic or resin parts. It is made by the Turkish brand Tiger Head Models, which devotes a separate line of sheets to the subject of its home air force — and it is exactly here that first-hand treatment shows.
The Turkish Air Force was one of the foreign operators of the Spitfire, and the machines served with it into the postwar period as well. Turkish national insignia differ markedly from the British ones in shape and coloring, so a model gains a different face at first glance even though the familiar airframe remains under the paint. The Mk.IXe version differs from the earlier sub-versions in the form of the wing and in the armament arrangement that goes with it. For a collector it is a way to get a variant into a display case that you do not usually meet at shows.
Turkish national markings have distinct white elements, on which it pays to check the coverage — hold the decal up to the light before sticking it down and look at whether the base shows through. If it does, spray a small white patch under it to the shape of the motif. The model has to be glossy and degreased. Once dry, use a decal softener only where the decal crosses engraved lines and let it work without touching it.
This is an accessory for a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
