Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet in 1:72 scale aimed at the jets of the Lockheed Shooting Star range and their operation outside their home air force. It is an accessory to a plastic kit — there is no plastic and no airframe parts in the package, only markings with which you assign a particular user to a model. The manufacturer is the Turkish brand Tiger Head Models, which specializes in decal sheets and resin accessories with an emphasis on less usual schemes.
The Lockheed Shooting Star was the first jet fighter to enter ordinary operational service in the US Army Air Forces. It combined a straight wing with a turbojet with a centrifugal compressor, and in the postwar years it became the starting point for a whole family of derived machines, including a very widespread two-seat trainer version. It was precisely thanks to the trainer and export versions that the type reached dozens of air forces all over the world and flew for long after faster swept-wing fighters had replaced it with front-line units. The particular versions and users represented on the sheet are given in the manufacturer's data.
Machines of this family were often worn in polished metal or in a silvery finish. Such a surface is smooth, but a metallic finish tends to be sensitive to rubbing and to water, so it is a good idea to fix it with a thin layer of gloss clear coat before the decals. Settle a decal with plenty of water, so that it can be slid over the surface, and only then fix it with a decal fixer. On a polished surface use decal softener sparingly — a heavy layer could attack the paint under the decal. Choose the final clear coat according to the gloss the whole model is to have.
This is a sheet of decals on its own. The kit, paints and clear coats are not included in the package.
