A vehicle with a special-purpose body has more windows and vision ports than a flatbed, and every one of them has to be covered before spraying. Cutting tape by hand on a model like this can easily take a whole evening, and one imprecise cut is enough to leave the cab frame wider on one side than the other. A set of masks cut exactly to the kit shortens that step and the edges of the paintwork come out sharp.
This is a masking set for the ZiL-131 in the version designated KShM in 1:35 scale, prepared for the ICM 35517 and 35518 kits. The number of parts and the areas the set covers are given on the packaging and in the manufacturer's instructions. The model, paints and an airbrush are not included.
Apply the masks before spraying onto a clean, dry surface and press them well into the corners, so that no gap is left anywhere. Then spray at right angles and in thin coats, as a heavy load of paint will seep even under a well seated mask.
The set is for builders of trucks and special-purpose vehicles in 1:35 scale who want precise edges to their paintwork and do not want to cut them from tape. The work is simple, it only calls for care when seating the masks. The model, paints and an airbrush are not included, unless stated otherwise.
