The Hummer is an American off-road vehicle with an angular body and large areas of glazing on which every imprecise boundary of paintwork is visible. The rearview mirrors on long arms are among its most conspicuous details and among those that make the most work during a build, because they are small and sit outside the outline of the body.
Compared with the basic version of masks for the same kit, this item carries rearview mirrors in its name as well. Whether these are masks for the surfaces of the mirrors or the mirrors as separate parts, check in the description on the packaging before building; the order of work differs accordingly.
Wash and degrease the parts first, otherwise the mask will not sit down. It is laid onto a finished, dry base before spraying; if it has an adhesive layer, press the edges down along their whole length so that paint cannot run under them. Spray several thin coats instead of one heavy one and remove the mask as soon as the paint is dry to the touch. Leave the mirrors for the very end of the build, after spraying and after the varnish has dried, because during the work they are easily broken off or crushed.
The set is supplied on its own. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise. The make-up of the sheet and the placing of the individual shapes are given in the instructions enclosed with the set.
