The Heinkel He 111 P was among the first versions of this bomber with a fully glazed forward fuselage, which replaced the older stepped nose with a separate cockpit. The P version carried DB 601 engines. It is precisely the glazed nose that makes the Heinkel one of the most demanding aircraft to mask, because the glazing consists of dozens of irregular panes.
The set brings pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the glazing of the model in 1:32 scale. The shapes of the parts match the Revell kit, on which the frames line up without further trimming. On models from other manufacturers the division of the glazing is usually different, so the set cannot be used reliably on them.
Wash and degrease the glazing before masking so that the masks hold over their whole area. Lift the parts with pointed tweezers, place them dry in position and press the edges down with a toothpick so that paint does not run underneath. Spray in thin coats and begin with the shade of the interior frames, and only then go on with the covering color. Take the masks off once the paint has dried, lifting a corner with the point of a scalpel and pulling the piece away slowly at a shallow angle.
The set is worth it for anyone who does not want to spend an evening cutting strips along a ruler and yet wants the frames sharp and of even width. Working with it is simple, so it is suitable for less experienced modelers as well. The package holds the masking set only; the kit, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
