1:72 German Tank Riders is a set of unpainted figures of German infantry in poses for riding on the armor of a tank, in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of unpainted figures of German Second World War infantry rendered sitting and half-lying, that is, in poses for being carried on the armor of a tank. Ordinary infantry sets are never in these positions, so without them a scene with a loaded tank cannot be built. The figures are in soft plastic, on which ordinary polystyrene cement and paint do not hold without preparation.
Carrying infantry on tank armor was a makeshift but common solution anywhere armored half-tracks were lacking. The soldiers sat on the turret and on the engine deck, held on to the grab handles and jumped off if the tank was hit. The advantage was the speed of the advance, the drawback complete vulnerability: a single burst or a fragmentation hit meant losses across the whole group. On a diorama it is one of the most legible scenes there is.
First wash the figures in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry out completely. Then apply a primer intended for soft plastics. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Before gluing, set the figures on the model dry and check that they bed onto the armor over their whole area, or they will be left hanging above it.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
