Responsibility details are not available.
A set of unpainted plastic figures in 1:72 scale from the brand HäT. The box contains forty-four figures in eleven poses, nine of the poses being infantry and two partial figures of tank crewmen leaning out of the turret. The figures are injection molded from the softer plastic usual for historical sets in this scale and they are supplied unpainted.
In the Second World War the Soviet army used what was called tank desant. The infantry rode into battle directly on the hulls and turrets of the tanks so as to keep pace with the advancing armor, and jumped off just before contact to fight on foot. It was a tactic forced on them by a shortage of armored personnel carriers and it was exceptionally dangerous for the soldiers on the armor. That is exactly why it is such a rewarding subject for scenes with tanks: the poses are crouching, holding on and leaning over, not marching.
Soft plastic holds less well with ordinary cement for polystyrene, and cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) or epoxy is more reliable. Wash the figures in soapy water before painting and let them dry, otherwise the paint runs off the greasy surface. A base coat of primer for plastic is a necessity with these figures, because without it the layer peels off when they are bent. Khaki uniforms come into their own if you leave the darker tone in the folds and lighten the edges slightly with a dry brush.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
