Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet Mil Mi-24 attack helicopter in the small 1:144 scale from Zvezda. It is a so-called snap-fit model — the parts join by clicking together, so the basic build is manageable even without glue, which makes the model a rewarding piece for beginners and for collectors of small scales. The box contains a couple of sprues with a small number of parts and decals. The finished model is about 12 cm long.
The Mil Mi-24 (NATO code Hind) is a Soviet twin-engine attack helicopter that combines the firepower of a gunship with the ability to carry troops — its cargo compartment takes eight soldiers. Its typical features are the stepped tandem cockpit, short stub wings with pylons for unguided rockets and anti-tank guided missiles, a five-blade main rotor and a tail rotor. From the 1970s the machine became one of the most widespread attack helicopters in the world.
Cut the parts carefully from the sprues and clean up the gates; in 1:144 they are small, so work with a sharp knife. Even though the model holds by clicking together, it is worth securing the joints with a drop of thin plastic cement. Mask the cockpit and the glazing before spraying. The small scale suits an airbrush and thinly applied paint; paint the fine rotor blades carefully so that the profile does not coarsen. A light wash will bring out the panel lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
