An injection-molded plastic kit of the Chinese ballistic missile nuclear submarine of the Type 092 class (the Xia class in Western terminology) in 1:144 scale from the production of the manufacturer Trumpeter. The model is built as a full hull and, according to the manufacturer, contains the upper and lower hull parts, photo-etched parts and a stand for display. The Type 092 was the first Chinese nuclear submarine armed with ballistic missiles (SSBN) and at the same time the first SSBN designed and built in Asia. It came out of the design of the earlier Han class nuclear attack submarines with a lengthened hull, into which the tubes for the ballistic missiles fitted alongside the nuclear propulsion of the vessel. It carried ballistic missiles launched from below the surface and formed the basis of the Chinese naval leg of nuclear deterrence.
Glue the parts with a liquid cement for plastic, fill the parting seam on the hull carefully and sand it smooth. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. You will place the model on the supplied stand, which makes both painting and display easier. Submarines carry dark naval shades - after the varnish, bring out the decks and the details with a wash and add fine traces of service.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
