A scenic base from the Italian maker Royal Model in 1:16 scale. It is a segment of cobbled road cast in good polyurethane resin. The section is modular and repeatable, so sections can be laid side by side to make a street of practically any length for large-format dioramas and display cases.
Roads paved with stone setts are a characteristic feature of European towns. In the large 1:16 scale the texture of every sett and of the joints comes out, which makes the base a striking ground for figures, motorcycles or busts.
Wash the casting free of mold release agent and apply a primer before painting; glue any joins between several sections with super glue (cyanoacrylate). A stone surface suits gray and brownish gray tones with a stronger wash into the joints and dry-brushing to bring out the setts; pigments and moss will complete the weathering.
The base is supplied as an unpainted resin casting. Paints and figures are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
