The repeating carbine 1:16 Mauser K98 rifle from Royal Model is a resin accessory for large figures and scenes with German infantry.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set brings a separate infantry carbine cast in resin in the large scale, where small things such as the sling eyelets, the front sight protector or the shaping of the stock are already visible. The weapon suits the hands of a standing figure, stowage in the bed of a vehicle and a prop lying loose in a scene alike.
The German army introduced the Karabiner 98 kurz in 1935 as a shortened form of the older Gewehr 98 rifle. A caliber of 7.92 mm, a bolt action and a fixed five-round magazine loaded with a stripper clip made it the basic weapon of the infantry throughout the Second World War. Millions of them were made, it served on every front, and after 1945 it remained in the armament of a number of other armies.
First free the casting of the remains of the gate with a fine-toothed file and wash the surface in lukewarm soapy water, so that no mold release layer is left on it. The wood of the stock comes out well when an oil glaze is drawn over a brown base and left to dry matte. The metal surfaces then only need lightening slightly with graphite or a dark shade of steel. Leave the sights in the base tone instead, so that an area that small is not filled with too thick a layer.
The box holds the weapon only; paints and a figure do not go with it.
