This plastic figure kit in the large 1:16 scale from Miniart depicts a trumpeter, that is, a regimental musician, of the 1st Westphalian Cuirassier Regiment of 1813. The set holds one mounted figure with a horse and full equipment; the trumpeter holds a period signal trumpet with which he passed on orders in battle.
The Kingdom of Westphalia was a French allied state that arose in the Napoleonic era. Its cuirassier regiment took part in the campaign of 1813. Trumpeters in the cavalry filled an important role, as their signals directed the movement and the attacks of the horsemen. They wore distinguishing uniforms so as to be easily recognizable in the field.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and seat the figure carefully with the horse. Pay particular attention to the trumpeter's distinguishing uniform and to the polished metal elements of the cuirass and the helmet. Bring the trumpet to life with metallic paints, build the horse's coat up in layers and finish it with a dry brush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
