A large-format injection-molded plastic kit of a weapon from the manufacturer Trumpeter. It is a static collector model of the XM177E1 carbine of the AR15/M16/M4 family in 1:3 scale, not a working weapon and not a toy. In the package you will find a great many plastic parts and instructions for a realistic paint job; the model is meant to be displayed, usually on a stand.
The XM177E1 was a shortened carbine version of the American AR15/M16 rifle family of the 1960s, known as the Colt Commando. It was notable for a shorter barrel and a sliding shoulder stock and became famous for its use by special forces. The model captures the characteristic shapes of this legendary family of firearms faithfully.
Clean the parts of sprue nubs and dry-fit them so that the model lines up well. You will create the metallic look of the weapon with good metallic paints or with graphite polishing over a dark base; the pigment of metallic paints has to be stirred thoroughly before it is applied. Fine wear on the edges will complete realistic weathering. Glue the model with modeling cement for plastic.
This is a static collector model, not a working weapon and not a toy. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
